Given a LTA and not doing well

I think that they decide where they want to be. They are either sand or rock dwellers. Is it attached under the rock pile yet?
If it is then so far it is happy where it is. And it does open some what so i would say it is still somewhat okay. The short stubby tentacles is that it needs to eat. Once it is attached for a day or so you could try the very tiny piece of silverside and see how it does. I would not move it anymore as that will just stress it again. It will go where it wants to.

As of right now it didnt attach to anything...it does open up a little but the mouth is still gaping..this weekend it is prolly going to go my LFS seeing as I already have one like it that is healthy. I was hoping to get somthing that my clown's would host in and it seems that I am out of luck on this one....REALLY dissappointed..

HI Enbowe,
I am a total noob but i had the same thing happen to my LTA that i bought just before x-mas. Unfortunatly mine did not make it wasted away in 5 days. After some investigating with the help of a very reputable LFS the only thing wrong with my tank was my salinity. Two sg meters a swing needle type and a floating type both read 1.023 it wasn,t until the Lfs measured with refractometer that i found out my tank was at 1.031. TOO much for the anemone to handle. I have now ordered my refractometer and have thrown the other meters out. I will be buyinng another LTA in a week or so. I WISH YOU LUCK WITH YOURS, HOPE HE MAKES IT!!!

If you have one in your 38 already I personally would take it back unless you plan to go bigger soon.
By the way, I believe they do prefer sand, that's where both my LTA and sebae are.
Only when I had weak lighting did they attach to rock higher up, but I'm sure they were reaching for more light.
