Glass shops in Syracuse

Just wondering if anyone's dealt with any of the glass places in Syracuse. Need to order glass for my 360g and figured I'd get feedback vs. just randomly selecting a supplier.

I always use Solvay Glass. Not sure about prices. Talk to Tim at ABC, I believe he has a connection that is non-reef related. He may be able to hook you up.

I've used Eastwood Glass to cut baffles for my sump. they did a good job. my wife used to work at Solvay Glass. I don't have anything good to say but I've also never done any business with them, and it seems everyone else has.

Well, I *finally* got around to looking for glass yesterday, and got a quote from Solvay. It was a little more than twice what I'd expected. (!!!) That was just for the glass, no delivery.

Calling some other places today. Didn't see the Eastwood recommendation so I'll give them a try.

Fritz - just waiting for the check from Uncle Sam to order the LEDs so I'll let you know!

For any who are curious - I just ordered from Geddes Glass and Metal. Their price was the cheapest, and was less than half the quote from Solvay. It's supposed to be ready early next week, so looks like I'll be putting it in next weekend. Then it should be quick to throw the stand together and get the tank in my house.

Anyone in the Syracuse area have those suction-cup glass holder things I could borrow? Kinda don't want to buy a bunch just for three pieces of glass. . .

Actually it looks like Grainger has them, 100lb capacity, for like $8 so I might as well get a few.

i have a few of those dual suction cups you can barrow but i wont be home till ~6ish, you probably need them before then... the ones i got are from harbor frieght for about the same price @ so called 200lb capacity, i had to tweak some to get them to work correctly...

Depending on the silicone you are using, grainger carried the rtv108 locally. I had Liverpool glass cut the replacement side for my 40, guy seemed nice enough, though the price was higher than ace who didn't have the right size in stock.
