Glover Family Reef 475G DT 640G TSV

OMG - Setting a tank up of this size is AAAALLLLOOOOTTTT of work. Having to use a ladder to even put anything in the tank is a new experience all together.

So lugging a couple hundred pounds of wet rock up the stairs and then over my head and then up the ladder and then the rock into the tank has made be a bit sore and very tired today.

The 200-300 pounds of rock isn't going to even put a dent in the DT area. I'll lug the rest up today and see where I am after its all in the tank.

Tank is about 20% full of Salt H2O.

What an ordeal that was to get that in the house. The quartz is not in yet so u can see the area under the tank that it will be slide into. That comes on the 19th.

pic is broken for me.

Congratz on the arrival !

Well 2 days into filling the tank and only 140 gallons to go.... Think I might have to get a 150 GPD RO/DI unit tomorrow.

Ya, I had a 100gpd unit and quickly upgraded to the 200gpd (total) kit. I only have a 40g at home and a 34g at the office but it would take too long to make then mix water. I figured I'd just get a higher rate RO/DI unit. Let's me make the RO and then mix on Friday and still do my water change Sat without having to make it a 3 day process or compromise by my change water not being mixed and balanced. Even with my current project of 150g that will replace my 40g at home, it will allow me to do the same. For the money already spent I figured getting some of my time back with a $100 upgrade was worth it.

Awesome you are to the filling stage! I've enjoyed reading about your project. Thank for sharing!

Well the weekend had some ups and downs in my build.

I had a slow drip from one of my bulk heads so my plan was to get that thing fixed this weekend. Well it seemed the threaded bulk head was stripped. Well I drained the over flow and then removed the bulk head. And what do you know it was a slip and not a screw. duh! Can't believe I got that good of a fit. Well I already had bought another bulkhead so I replaced it. What it is leaking in the same way. Then I realized I had both gaskets on this time. uggghhh. So drain and replace again. Ok its right this time. Turn on the main pump and then I hear my son screaming. Well turns out the pipe was hitting another pipe and could not get a seal. Once the over flow filled and put pressure on it the flood began. Lost about 25 gallons at least which ended up in the basement via the drywall. My son eyed up the slight angle to the fitting and I fixed that to solve the problem for good. Total time 6 hours, House is dried out now and didn't die from electrocution. So over all I guess could of been worse.

Got the cover built and on the tank, only to find one of my radions not to be working right. Working with Ecotech to get it corrected via software upgrade, but so far it won't take the update. Critical error during the process and the Red/Blue flashing led for several hours.

Over all the tank is not dripping and 7 of the 8 lights are on. Tank looks great. Pictures really do its size no justice.

Looking at the picture looks just like my 75 gallon tank when I set it up. lol.

Hard to believe a lot of those rocks are 2 feet wide.

After several days and several messages from ecotech on the support board I finally left work early and gave them a call.

WOW is all I can say. Customer service exceeded anything I could have dreamed of. They got a programmer on the phone and walked me through several things. Got 7 lights programmed and working like a charm.

They are sending a replacement unit for the one that is acting up and won't connect.

Overall time on phone with support almost 2 hours. for the help!

Added 15 Damsels and have most everything into the DT now.

Next project is to get the rails mounted so I can move the cover by myself and have access to the tank.

Counter top comes tomorrow at 8:00 AM wahoo Cant wait to see how they get them installed under the tank with it full.... Gonna be interesting.

Big day! Contractor was here bright and early preping for the counter top to be delivered. So excited to have a dishwasher and sink again!!!

Pictures to come.

Glad we were able to help- this is the beginning of a very awesome build and we're happy to be a part of it!
