Gobie74's wide peninsula 200

Gobie, I think the tank has really come to life. Beautiful, I love the AI LED. Perfect for your application. It's so cool to see the transformation especially if you have all the corals and all you have to do is place them in. The system is clean and well thought out. How 'bout some close ups of what you've got in there!!!!

nice tank gobie74. how much watts does the lights consume? do you have some kind of cover over the lights or do you still see all the hardware of the lights like the rack and wires that are needed for the lights? is it possible to have a cover for the light rack and assembly to give a cleaner look and how high do you have to hang the light over the tank to get coverage so that it doesn't look like directional light?

thanks

nice tank and loving that lighting with those new leds:)

Thanks

C'mon more pics!!!!

I meant to take more today, even cleaned the 'glass' in preparation, but then got distracted. Tomorrow :)

How are the tank walls doing? I was looking at the first pics and thinking to myself, "no bracing on that thing is going to me scary...."

I have a brace on there, you can see it in some of the pictures. The company that made the tank is making two much thinner ones for me. The current one is kinda thick ( 11.5" ). But I ran it without the brace for a while, not too much deflection.

Hopefully tomorrow on the close up pics.

If i remember correctly, each led is 3 watts, there are 3 leds in each puck, and there are 8 pucks per module, and I have 6 modules. So that's 432 watts at 100% power. I'll try to include a picture of the lighting next time, but if you look a few pages back you should see a picture or two of when I hung them.

Nice looking tank, how is the flow working out?

Thanks, flow is fine now. It took a little while for me to find a height for the Vortechs that I liked that wasn't making too much of a splash nor disturbing the sand bed too much. I think its good now. I have the Vortechs on Tidal Swell mode, so sometimes there doesn't seem to be much flow at all. Sometimes both pumps are kicking it at 100%. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out.

Here's some pictures as promised. Let me pre-apologize for my poor photography skills.

The first 5 are taken going clockwise around the tank from the kitchen side to the living room side.

This next one is of "clam island", not enough clams yet, and I think the sailfin is a camera hog.

If I remember correctly not too long ago there was a request for some details on how the lights were hung. Does this help? Yeah, I have to clean up the wiring a bit, but its mostly out of the way unless you look up.

And also a question about how high above the tank the lights are. How's this?
