Goby Intro

I will be introducing an Orange Stripe Prawn Goby to my DT in a few days. I'm wondering if there are any tips to encourage him to take up residence in a hiding spot in front of the tank and not the back. He's very good at hiding in QT and I would like to see him again once he enters the DT.

Thanks, ZB

not a whole lot you can do. he'll pick his spot, hopefully it will be in the front where you can see him.

My goby has tunnels and holes all over the tank didnt take him long. Cool to watch him pop hishead out to move some sand around.

This reply is a little late but I put a pistol shrimp down in my DT in the front where a rock had a small depression in the sand while my goby was in QT. I never saw the the pistol shrimp again for weeks and weeks. Today I shined a flashlight into that hole and there he was working away under that very rock. So I took a small net and took my little goby out of the QT and held the net closed until I could put the goby right in that hole. Voila! It stayed put and then backed into the tunnel. It's such a prime spot for them and plenty of room to excavate so I'm hoping to see more of them in the coming months.
