did you silicone the tiles to the bottom and the cracks in between them? If not, wont this become a place for detritus buildup? are you planning on removing them when cleaning or is your flow strong enough where it will keep it all suspended?

Matt, No I did not silicone the tiles to the bottom or the cracks. I'm going to add just a small amount of sand so it can fill the gaps. I have 4 returns on the bottom of the tank that will push all off the detritus Up and I also have 4 returns on the top and a MP 40 in the middle to really push everything around pretty good.

I will not be taking the Tiles out for cleaning. Couple of reasons why I did the bare bottom.

1) clean look
2) Nitrate reduction
3) I'm planing to have 70% SPS
4) the rocks won't hit the bottom glass
5) I can always add sand in the future if needs be.
6) I will be moving in 5 to 6 month so it will be easier to move the tank with out having to remove the sand.

I'm Planing to cycle the tank for 4 to 5 month in the garage so when I move the tank to my new house it will be ready to take on the stock from my 55 gallon tank.

I know you cant wait :) the stand looks great. I have some grommets that will dress up that hole where the cords come out. Remind me to bring you one next time I'm going to see you.
