Golden heart trigger

2 days back my niger litterally bit the face off my tasseled file causing and almost immediate death to him. The niger went jeckyll and hyde last month but this is the first murder, the other fish he has caused considerable damage to. The murder was the last straw and ended up taking all 150 lbs of liverock out which i hope didn't disrupt the system that much.

Anyway with the loss of 2 fish, I am in need of some more. My consideration is a medium (4-5 inch) golden heart trigger. My first question is does it have a large temper? I've heard varying opinions. Would it be too similar with spots to a clown trigger or not because they are black spots? Has anyone kept clowns with ghts? Would it mind a hyper dominant show size emp angel because of the blue stripes? My emp did in a 5 inch fuscus last year because they were too similar and I don't want this again.
Does anyone know a place on line with them right now? I know justrarefish had some for $150 and that is my price range. Finally does this fish hide like nigers or more open swimming like clowns?

Reefer334 can add to this more than I can, but for the clown and ght combo, my clown didn't look at it twice and was more than twice the ght's size.

Those Niger Triggers... you never know about them . I had one before and it was the only fish to ever bite my forearm and make it bleed like crazy. Gotta love em though.

Hello Mel,
Mine is out all of the time,as for personality they are a lot like a queen trigger.Mine is pretty mellow ,as long as everyone stays away from his cave!!Awesome fish, just make sure you deworm it when you get it and feed plenty of vitamins as they seem a little stressed when you get them and skinny. They are picky eaters to,they will only eat shrimp.mysys, cuttlefish and krill. The couple that I hgave had will nor eat dry food.Live aquaria has one.
Good luck,
Chris
