Here's my 'very basic' acclimation process that I use for my fish:
1.) I float the bag into QT for 10-15 minutes with the bag open to the air.
2.) I use a solo cup and grab a half cup of tank water and slowly pour the contents against the side of the bag (like a trickle effect). I continue this by adding the tank water and waiting 5 minutes in between each addition.
3.) I do this until the bag is somewhat full, then I empty half of its contents for disposal (I have a bucket next to the tank to empty).
4.) I repeat adding half cups (sometimes a little more during 2nd round) every 5 minutes until the bag is full again.
5.) I then hand grab the fish or pour out all the water until bare minimum (into disposal bucket) or enough that the fish is not out of water and I place the fish into the tank.
6.) I leave lights off for 24 hours and observe every few hours, but I don't feed until day 2. I use ambient lighting to view the fish.
My quarantine tank consists of two 20 gallon tanks linked together by one sump (30 gallon rubbermaid bin). The return pump I use is a Rio 2500 (split the returns into each tank). I use one overflow box between each tank, and I also have a Rio 600 in each tank for added flow as needed. I use a Via Aqua heater (300 watt) and maintain my temperature at 76-77 degrees. Salinity is kept at 1.023 adding RO water each day. 10 gallon water changes every 4-5 days - more if needed. I feed heavily (2-3x per day) during QT period to get the fish fat and happy (soak all food in Vita Chem). No skimmer, but if I had some extra money I would get one. I keep a package of carbon either in the sump or in the backside of overflow box. I utilize the filter sock from my display tank to help with beneficial bacteria. I wait until fish are eating (at least a week). For treatments I remove carbon and prophylactically dose Prazipro (per directions) and carry treatment for 14 days. For lymphocysts, I let the fish ride it out and make sure I keep up with water changes. For Ich, I treat using Cupramine with a concentration at 0.3 for 2 weeks (add more as needed after water changes). I'm afraid of the hypo thing, just not comfortable with it. I need to try it though.
This is what I do and it has worked for me. But feel free to critique as I'm open for improvements to my process.
So far the little Goldflake is swimming around freely. Let's see if it eats tomorrow.
