My first impression is that this one is a stutchburyi species.
Are the polyps super small, like 2 or 3 millimeters in diameter?
The stutchburyi has the smallest polyps of any documented species.

Right off hand, I'm not familiar with this species. I've seen the same or similar a few times, but haven't had the chance to check out the skeleton.

If it is as close to the leather coral as it appears in the pic, you will want to relocate one or the other coral. I'm sure your goni is not fully extended. When it does it may be touching the leather or the toxins of the leather may keep the goni somewhat retracted on that side. Either way, there will be warfare taking place :uzi: :hammer: .
......actually, it appears like there already is; unless there was another coral placed near the goni on that side at the LFS.

why do u think warfare is taking place already?
The tentacles become longer and more stringy than normal and the tips of the tentacles develop swollen spheres (acrospheres), which contain stinging cells. The ones on your goni (right side facing leather) do not look very large yet, but they appear to at least be pronounced. It usually takes a month or so for the acrospheres to develop though. That is why I thought maybe it sat next to another coral at the LFS.

I don't know if warfare is already taking place, but if the tentacles of your goni extend to within 1" of the leather, then it will be. Even with chemical warfare only and no physical touching, the goni will still develop acrospheres.
