Good Cameras

I was looking to get a new camera that's good for taking up close pictures to use for my tank...any suggestions?

Thanks. I see everyone posting pics of theyre corals and the colors stand out and theyre so clear im like wow..i need a camera like this lol

Depends on how much you want to spend. If you can swing an SLR I would recommend Nikon or canon. The lens is going to be the most important part (and can cost what the camera is + more). I have a nikon d3100 with a tamron 90mm lens - love it. The only features I wish I had are (1) remote flash control in the body of the camera for shooting into the tank with the flash on top (2) wireless remote for family portraits

Considering I only get a twenty dollar allowance it can't be $1500 like the ones I saw online lol. How much did you pay for yours Blurry?

I shoot with t1i Canon ....you can get that online for 500-600$....but blurry is right. You need a good lens to take those clear upclose pics I and the others take. Some point and shoots take decent pics too just incase

I never knew it was the lense. Huh learn something new everyday. Thanks for the posts. Im also looking online at cameras..thaught it was good to have personal preferences.

I use a canon sx20is, kind of a all in one camera. Zoom lens, in super macro it can focus on objects basically touching the lens. Hd video 14 mp, all the great and easy to use functions that come on canons except raw, but You can also hack it with a sd card to get raw and 100's of functions normally found on higher end canon cameras that can push the camera to its max. I normally don't use it though because the camera itself functions great stock. cost about 350$-450$. fully rotating lcd display. I can give sample pics if interested. I have made many poster prints that come out very detailed. Only con hard to get low light shots but it is one of the only bridge/super zoom cameras with a hot shoe.

Great for va ca not having to carry around extra lenses.

Could you please give sample pics? It would be greatly appreciated.

You can probably buy an older DSLR + a macro lens for a couple hundred $ This ricordea picture was taken at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse with a Nikon D100, and a Sigma 105mm macro lens. When I sell my camera, I don't expect to get more than $150 for it, and the lens would go for around $300 (but there are cheaper out there used)

I use a nikon D90, wish I had a marco lens for it but if your looking at something cheap look at a cannon D10 and a nikon AW100. Used both in the bahamas and work great under water. I'm a nikon person, but for the point and shoot, I like the cannon better.

bunch of random shots with mine. Most of them i am pretty far away.
