Top of the morning everyone.

Does anyone have anything crazy they want to share regarding their systems over the weekend? Good, bad, new hardware or just something new to share etc, would love to hear about it.

I had to remove a few rocks from the back of my tank to scrub away some white sponge I noticed growing in the back corner. Took about a half hour total from start to finish. I use a dedicated bucket and some tank water and a stiff brush. Did a quick rinse and a a power wash to remove all remnants of the sponge, if not, it will only grow back in time.

Got anything you want to share?

I guess you could say I am in the middle of a slight water change. This is a few shots of my 135 reef about a week ago

and this is it this morning!

hopefully my new 265 will look as nice. I know it will take time as the 135 was up and running since 1993 ! Man did I have SPONGE!

nothing that crazy for me this weekend.
added a larger powerhead and my zoas seem to be loving it.

I also moved some stuff around. a colony of mine started to really thin out. so much so that they moved off the frag plug they were on and started growing in the shade. I moved the plug and the remnants seem to be doing great.

including a water change I spent about 40 min. with my tank.

Wow, that is extreme....

nothing that extreme here either.

Went to our local club meeting last night. topics included fragging corals of different types and setting up phyto stations.

Everyone who wanted got frags of the corals and kits for starting their own simple phyto statation.

Won a raffle, bought a tshirt and I'm off and running with phyto. Finish water change and then put a pressure pump on ro/di unit and done.

Dusty pulled out his little band saw and mad short order of a couple colonies. Not sure how it would generalize to people here if you don't have a saw. However if you are, or your club is looking to upgrade, this saw Inlaid is great for polyps and about any coral.

What I like about it was the the ability to shave the back of the rock down thin behind the polyps, then take a sharp instrument and cut thru the rock. This gives you a surface for glueing the new fragment to a plug or live rock, etc...

To me the saw is also less tramatizing than banging with a chisel and hammer...

Everything else is pretty much the same....... Cut between the polyps, not through the middle.

Best part is always firing up the saw and watching who can't handle power tools quickly leave the area.

all you need is a air pump, air stone, CLEAN NEW SALTWATER not from your tank. light. Seed phyto culture and I use liquid plant fertilizer for food for the phyto. pretty easy stuff.

Worked on my new tanks stand today. Almost done. Just have to sand, stain and polyurathane it and its done.

Guess what these routered edges are for. Gonna do somthing I feel is unique and very benaficial, as well as giving the stand a VERY clean look-

What type of wood?

Looks like you sealed your joints also.

Looks like the base rail along the front on pic # 3 is slightly off the floor 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Was that intentional or am I seeing things that aren't there?
