Got these frags from Aquatic Reef in West Dundee

Got these frags a couple days ago from Aquatic Reef. Sorry my camera sucks but hey, I can't afford an expensive one. This will do.

Yeah that pink is awesome. I have right next to my pink zoos. There is still alot of those pink milliporas left at the store in a big colony. Might go back and get some more.
 
Are you Sherwin? LOL Well, I guess it's cheaper than advertising on RC. That is a nice pink acro.

It all depends on your lighting and water parameters. It doesn't matter to me how fast or slow it grows. As long as it grows and it's alive. Patience is the key. I like buying frags rather than a colony cause I love watching stuff grow. At the same time save some room for my other corals to grow. I do have a few show piece though.
 
Aquatic Guru, why are all of your posts advertising for Aquatic Reef? Really, it's not the best way to get people to come to the store......

If you really want to promote them, have a big sale or special event.

Cause I shop there and it's my favorite store in my opinion. Is there a problem? I gone everywhere else and it's just not to my satisfactory. If it's such a big deal then next time I'll just take pics of my frag and post it and won't even mention where I got it. But what if someone was to ask me where I got it? Should I just respond " Well I really can't cause Fiber Guy would start going off on me cause he thinks I'm advertising for a LFS. All I did simply was post a pic and shared it with other RC members. And you know what a few people like the pic. Would it be fair then if I go to a LFS every week and post a pic of what I bought? Hey look I got these Zoos from this store at Petland in Naperville, hey guys looks I got this fish from Scott's Pet Shop, hey look I got this Ricordea from Advanced Aquatic, Hey look I got this Xenia from Beyond the Reef? Would you still be upset with me FiberGuy? I do shop at all these places and more. I'll even name some more so I won't leave anyone out. Ocean's Floor, Exotic Aquatic, Corals Paradise, Sea Escape, even the expensive overprice Petland near Beyond the Reef in Schuamburg, Sho Tank Aquarium, some Pet Outlet in Milwaukee, oh here we go....PETCO!! I'm not advertising!!! I just prefer Aquatic Reef. What's wrong with someone having their own opinion about a store they prefer. It's a free country the last time I checked, unless the hated George Bush changed it? Hey Fiberguy. One word you Mr. CMAS BOARD guy. Chill.

I am not trying to shut you down, but it's fairly easy to see that you are advertising for this store. Unfortunately, I have not made it to this place yet, but I will check it out. It's pretty hard to imagine that they could be so far superior to the other great LFS in our market, but you are definitely open to your opinion!

I'm glad that you've found a place that satisfies all of your reef needs. I happen to like all of the local LFS and have to be careful not to allow my personal opinions come through in my posts. As LFS Liaison for CMAS, I am honestly trying to promote those LFS that support CMAS.

So, I will do my best to refrain from commenting on your promotion of Aquatic Reef in the future. I would ask that you refrain from leaving negative comments about competitors to Aquatic Reef, since they are also trying their best to serve the local reefing community!

Lighting and water have alot to do with it. However, these 3 (good looking pieces I might add) are faster growers for sps. Especially the pink milli. A frag the size of the left pink milli can easily double itself inside a month.

I usually don't like to get involved in these things, but Boyd does the same thing all the time for other shops. I defended him in another thread, thinking Mo was attacking him, but now that I read this thread, I can see why. I don't really see the difference.

As I stated on the other thread, I was going to go over to my favorite LFS (Coral Reef) & take pics of some of the great new corals they have. They really haven't been known for their coral selection up to now & they're really trying. I'd like folks to check them out, as their prices are one of the best priced shops around. This is for the benefit of Chicago reefers!

I don't think either one of you are wrong.

I ventured out to Aquatic Reef on Wednesday evening as I heard in a prior post that they carry Tiger Pod's. I was able to meet the owner Noell, Sherwin and even Mo (aquatic guru) as he was there buying items as well as 3 other reefers. It is a nice shop and there was some very sweet acro's and Monti's there. Can't say anything about the softies as I don't look for those ;-) I picked up the pods and 5 snails and was given a CMAS discount by the owner. He even asked if I was a member when checking out. I recommend people venture out to visit ... another LFS worth shopping at.
