Grand Cayman Snorkeling Pictures!!!

is there any possible way of getting current phosphate measures from any reef water around Grand Cayman, I use this thread in a lot of no phosphate/algae examples and if we could get a hanna checker down there it would be extremely helpful.

NOAA or reefwatch or someone out there has 2012 data I guarantee it. woods hole, who knows, but someone around there has the numbers I really super wish someone would find this out and post it in this thread. If you google "current phosphate measures around Grand Cayman Island" you get a bunch of abstracts and pdf's. nothing that says June 7th 2012 reading was .0000001 for ex lol

one interesting facet/detail was that I dived these locations several times in '96 and it looked the exact same. since then whatever the readings are seem pretty darn consistent judging by eutrophication alone.

Great pics! Thats crazy, I have a Olympus 6020 and its not ANYWHERE as good of shots. I too took some in Grand Cayman. My pictures don't have near the white balance and I had to do a ton of photoshopping just to make them useable.

The first one of the sea fan is amazing.

Thanks for the compliments. I am looking to get a housing for this olympus tough and take it down diving below 30ft. Anyone have any comments on that?

As for the lion fish, its pretty good. Not much of a flavor when I cooked it up in the frying pan with some oil. A lot of restaurants are using the lion fish down here.
It is absolutely amazing the amount of lion fish you can spear down here! We went out on a boat to the north side by Barkers and did a two tank dive. We got 49 lbs of lion fish between the four of us! I speared like 4 in one small little rock and I even missed the biggest one and one swam off before I could even get close. They are everywhere here. :furious: The second dive I saw my first 8ft manta ray though, pretty cool!

As for phosphate readings I will have to look into that with the dept of environment. I will let you know once I find out.

i am getting this camera tommorrow i went to pr and used a crappy camera to take under water photos and got nothing good.
