Alright, i'm about 80% of the way through the liveaboard trip photos now. Never fear though, as there are another 600 or so from Orpheus Island.

edr42, I just found this thread and it is stunning. Next December my wife graduates with her teaching degree and we will be moving to S. Carolina where I will be attending University of South Carolina to study marine science and this is inspirational. Carolina obviously not Australia but should be very exciting. Keep up the good work.

Those pics are absolutely amazing!!!!!!!

maybe I missed it,but what camera setup are you using to take these photos ?

I just got back from turks and caicos , and the waters are teeming with life, fish every where. And that was just snorkeling, diving must be even more amazing. Now I must get certified.

keep those pics coming there great.

thank you for sharing all these wonderful pics. how deep is the water your diving in? simply just amazing, is there any chance you need a helper :D ? thats a very large starfish, looks like 10" or so to me

Can you tell us again why you are there? What do you do from day to day, when you aren't posting these wonderful shots of the GBR for us? Is there something in particular that you are studying or tracking, so field knowledge? If you told us before, I forgot by now. :o

I'm up here doing my degree in Marine Biology, and Geology. From day to day, i generally do all the uni student things; drink, eat, sleep, work, and try to scrape money together to go diving. I spent 2 weeks earlier in July on Orpheus Island doing a research project on coral zonations with reference to the substrate and energy level of the area.

Now where are those last photos...
