I have had this carpet for a year. It is very healthy and growing from about 6 inches to 9 inches in diameter. It is a very very sticky tentacle anemone that doesn't let go of your hand or anything it gets its tentacles on. I could not get it to host an ocellaris pair of clowns. I saw it sting and stick to the tail of one of them that darted away from it and from that time on they wouldn't go near it. It eats anything that gets in its tentacles. It tried to eat my sea cucumber. It has eaten snails and crabs. Non clown fish have not come into contact with it and avoid it. My question is whether or not it is safe to put my spawning pair of maroon clowns in the tank with it. I don't want to loose them and am afraid that the anemone will kill and eat the clowns. I might have to keep it separate from the maroons. Are maroon clownfish immune from the sting of the green carpet Haddone anemone?
