Green healthy Carpet going into the dark

I have had a Green Capet for about 7 months now . It has grown from 6" to about 14" I never moved from where I placed it . I have also had urchins spawn (~ 30 in tank now ) and at least 4 of them have found there way into the mouth of the green carpet just recently. The carpet has now moved into a dark area of the tank and is about 6" in dia. Can they get sick or die from eating urchins ?

I have had mine eat urchins (( some fairly large ones )) and never had any issues.

What, if anything, has change with your tank? Even moving a powerhead an inch can cause them to move.
What size tank?
What lights?
What are the actual water parameters -- with numbers please.

I just added a 40W UV system 1 week before the move and did a sulfur swap in denitrification unit . I did feed it a cocktail shrimp 1 week ago . I usually feed it a silverside once a week

Is the UV discharging into the display? Mine has only moved for two reasons. An increase in flow, or a reduction in lighting.

It is discharging in to a refuge within my sump.. I did notice after UV install my protein skimmer is collecting 2x more than normal but a lighter color . I checked it out this AM and under the moon light I can see it has expanded back to a nice shape and is inching back towards the light ... So they don't like water movement ? I take my power heads out all the time to clean and I am sure they are not pointing the same all the time ...
