Greens for tangs (asides from Nori)

A couple of questions...

1. If I can't see any noticeable algae on my live rock, does this mean there is no food present for a tang?

2. How do you feed a shy tang? (If I am anywhere near the tank he hides under the rock.) He doesn't seem to like the dry sheets of algae on a clip and the directions say to leave them in for only 3 hours so I haven't left a sheet in all day but maybe I should?

Thanks,
Pat

ps - Mine is a Kole Tang.

ps - Mine is a Kole Tang.

I have no noticeable algae on my rocks and my tang is doing great.

I used to have a naso tang that would eat out of my hand and would share with my yellow tang. Now the yellow will eventually pull nori from the clip. (I had to give up the naso bc my tank is too small) I've also seen people glue a clip to an old mag float and have the clip close to the bottom of the tank.

Kole tang's are not as likely to eat nori as other tangs, if he is picking at the rocks I wouldn't worry too much. How long have you had him?

I use romaine, broccoli, spinach and carrots. All my tangs have eaten all of these and most the tangs I currently have, have been with me over 8 years now.

If you have seen the Tangs this man has raised you would take his advise.

With nls pellets, hikari pellets, H20 frozen 1-2 I only do seaweed sheets, green-red-brown once a week now in both tanks. They also get on rotation rods, roggers, pe mysis
