Thanks. I’m struggling to make that happen with the rock I have. I might give it another try. I want a lot of places for Acro frags.

As I’ve mentioned upthread, I’m terrible at scaping and all my tanks seems to end up with the old school rock wall.

On top of that, I cut a couple pieces of pvc too short so the plumbing progress is likely put off until next weekend with the weather we’re having.

I’m not trying to be mean but that looks like a giant detritus trap (could just be the angle but it doesn’t look like flow would go through it easily.

That said, a lot of times to get the scape that I think you want, you’ll probably need to glue/epoxy pieces together. But you also want more “branchy” rock rather than hunks and boulders

Oh, no offense taken, you know I highly value your opinon. That pile of poop got torn down. I think I might be liking this latest iteration. It’s more open than it looks.

I think I’m finally happy with my base scape. It’s either that or the back pain or a few beers or both lol. No one say anything negative about this or you’ll trigger my Type A personality to tear it all down and start over

Reminder, there’s still several inches of sand to be put in the tank.

Okay, between Mrs griss and I, we decided to roll with it. 45 lbs aragamax and 20 lbs crushed coral added. Will add the live sand once the tank has saltwater. I do have another 15 lbs aragamax if needed.

For live sand, I have 40 lbs Fiji Pink, 32 lbs Natural Reef, 20 lbs Bimini Pink and 20 lbs Special Grade Reef. Obviously, I wanted a large variety of grade sizes.

Haven't been here in a while. Last time I was I saw you made a post about Hydros. Did you end up going in that direction?

I will with the upgrade. Current tank has an Apex. But, a friend getting out of the hobby gave me a hell of a deal on his Hydros components.

As much as the gravity defying Instagram tanks look cool, I think what you have there will be a very natural outcropping when it's covered in life.

I agree, I don’t really care for what you call gravity defying look. But, I also hate the rock wall look.

I don’t like to glue or drill/acrylic rod rockwork either. I think that’s why I struggle to get a good scape.

An hour ago 19 inches of snow was forecast. Now it says 3.
They need better chickens to butcher and study the entrails.

Move the tall branched rock from the center. Too much symetry there. Put it somewhere besides exactly in the center.

Thanks for the laugh my friend. Mrs griss put that Tongan branch there so, I’ll have to move in a stealthy manner

On a side note, it’s nice to have 4WD. Made it to Home Depot. I really went to get more ice melt but they were out so, I grabbed more pvc. I wasn’t happy with my return plumbing and replaced that. I’ll finish one drain pipe today.

The second drain line is half done but I don’t know if I’ll finish today. My back is killing me from shoveling snow. We got 8-9 inches overnight and another round of snow is supposed to start in an hour. They’re predicting 3-5 more inches this afternoon.

The "prediction" quite literally changes by the hour. 9-12 inches early this morning. Then 12-19 inches around 9am. Now 3 inches and we are actually getting freezing rain, which wasn't predicted.
But they have moved on from that and we have a new advisory.
So far we have no snow. 0 none. Just ice. Paddy likes to go out and dig it up into pieces and bite it. He has a good time. Them mommy dries him with a towel. Our big 105 pound German Shepherd. So scary.

Our Newfie is loving this weather of course.
