how do we get the money to you...or are we waiting to see how many people order..

I would asume that we would need to wait for everbody to get done placing their orders. Then we'll have to give the LFS a call and see what kind of deal they offer keeping in mind that we will have freight to split between everybody. Then compare deals and decide. I think if Abbysmom places the order she should have cash in hand before placing the order. I'm sure she'll let us know.

Thats exactly what I was thinking Gws76. I was going to wait until around either Thursday or Friday to give everyone the opportunity to get online and join this group buy if they want to. At that point I'll contact a couple LFS and see what they could offer us based on the large quantity being ordered. We could then decide which direction we would like to go. I completely understand that the LFS need our support. I spend a great amount of money doing such but i also need a break when i can get one in this expensive hobby. I don't care how pretty my clean-up critters are so i will take the cheaper way. But if it were a fish then i would want to pick it out in person, so i would be willing to pay extra.

As far as payment goes, when that time comes i would accept payment through paypal (including the fee) or in person, check by mail, however you would like to get it to me. I work off Morgan Road and I-40 and live in Mustang. Here is the link to calculate the paypal fee.

Here is what Key Critters said about my inquiry.

"Good afternoon

Nassarius, or mud whelks, are not collected in the Keys.

We do sell a hermit that is locally called a redleg hermit. They are $1 ea. They are not what is correctly called the scarlet hermit.

Thank you again
Keys Critters/Corrie"

Thanks Abby, another idea on this would be to finish up by Friday afternoon, including contacting the LFS, then bring the money to the meeting on Saturday, easy way to collect as well as meet everyone! I will figure out my part of the order this evening and send it to you.

Thats a great idea to all meet and get the money together at the meeting! I forgot that it was this Saturday. Thanks Greg!

That's an excellent idea!

Blue leg hermits are great but there is a draw back with them. They are good hunters with anything with shells. So when you see you Astrea snail shell crawling across the sandbed doing Ninty to Nothing you will know that the Blue legs are keeping up their reputation for killing anything that has a shell!!!

Red legs are buggers to. If you can Scarlet's are great at what they do and they don't steal shells. More costly but very efficient

Before you go sending money out of state, contact local stores and see what they can do for you. Once you have an idea of what you want, wouldn't you like to keep your money in town?
What will you do when you have to buy everything from online shops? With no where to go browse locally. All to save a little money. This is how jobs get outsourced. Everyone is looking for the next big deal. I remember that a person did business with a place because that's where you traded atand felt comfortable giving your money, your hard earned money, to their establishment. Just my thoughts....take or leave.

Bring money to a Comas meeting for a group buy, I don't like it unless comas is sponcering it! Just my 2 cents again

BTW I spoke with Kathy from Reefshop today. She read this thread, and wanted everyone to know that if interested in bulk to let her know. She was more than open to the idea, someone just needs to let her know.
