Gsp elimination

I've plucked, scraped, suctioned and need to know how long to leave the larger rocks out in the sun? Other than soaking it in salt water overnight is there :uzi:anything else that should be done before returning it to the dt
And is there anything else besides ye ol sun trick that is safe? Boil, burn.....buy new rocks? Thanks, Bubba

Personally I would never put bleach anywhere near anything to do with my tanks, I certainly wouldn't want it in direct contact. Lack of contact with water will kill the coral, just be patient. You can put the affected rocks at the bottom of your system when you rebuild it, the rocks on top ensuring no light ever reaches them. I had an epic outbreak of GSP a few months back, I just built on top of it, problem solved.

Do a search on fenbendazole. It will eradicate GSP and BCP. It's not without risks but will definitely eradicate GSP.

I'll just keep plucking and sun bleaching I am the type of person that if I used your suggestion my fish would GET worms and [I really never saw anything about GSP. Thanks for the replies :headwalls: Bubba Shirl

Have you tried smothering them with some epoxy yet? I manipulate the growth of mine this way all the time.

Just leave it in a bucket with salt water no power head no heater. They will die and not come back. I had a huge rock of them that was given to me. I left them in a bucket went to use the heater and power head to mix water for a few hours and forgot about it for a few days. I just let it continue cooking in the bucket. A month or so later the smell was gone after a few water changes and put the rock back in my tank. Not a single gsp

That sounds like the cure I can live with. Going to have an empty looking tank for a while. Thanks so much for your reply. Bubba Shirl
