GXPKY's 240 Gallons of Addiction!

Got it framed up now, may add a couple more braces but seems sturdy enough up top, overall I think it turned out good. Gonna start skinning it tomorrow!

Planning on mounting a couple large fans in the top of the canopy to keep air circulating.

The cycle is over (yay!!!), only got a mini cycle using the 500ish pounds of mature live rock, gonna be a big chore moving the LR, and livestock from the 90 to the 240 tonight, lots of stuff to acclimate.

The tank is coming along nicely! Looking forward to pics when the livestock is in!

Got the livestock from the 90 transfered over, lights are off or i'd get a pic, will do tomorrow though for sure. Got more livestock being added Sunday or Monday, just gotta haul it home from my friends house since he has been housing it in his huge system while I waited for the tank to finish cycling.

I appriciate the kind comments guys/gals, keep em coming :strooper:

The fish are still in my friend's system for the time being, should be moved over in the next day or so. Will get more pics up then!

Livestock is in the tank now, lovin my school of tangs!

Purple Tang
10 inch Hippo Tang
Orange Shoulder Tang
Flame Fin Tomini Tang
Convict Tang
Vlamingi Tang
Clown Tang
Yellow Tang
Sailfin Tang
Lavender Tang

Might have missed one but that's the tang list! Think I'm gonna finish the cabinet work tomorrow but not sure depends on whether I can find time or not.

Anywho, here's the pics pardon the bad photography, just throwing them up since I am busy right now workin on the tank. Plus I need new actinics, the halides are new but the other bulbs aren't the best.

Wow !!! New tank....moved, cleaned, set-up, cycled, aquascaped and livestock transferred in 2 weeks....very impressive.

Thanks. We worked our butts off on it, I lost over 10 pounds in 2 weeks doin all of this. Glad it only had a mini cycle, all of the mature rock only being out of the system for around an hour total helped out a ton, and thank God for having a friend with a system that could house the livestock while the tank was cycling.

Got two huge barrels in the garage set up for water changes and ATO, with plumbing soft-lined through the wall into the living room and into the sump. I'll get some pics up later. Uploading a video of the setup right now, which I will post as well.

Not the best video ever but not bad either, a video of the 240, the sump, and the plumbing, as well as the fish etc. Excuse the colors in the tank, needs actinics badly.

Attached about 20 more sps frags to the rockwork last night. Picking up two more mp40w's this weekend as well.

Nice! What's the blue thing at the 53 second mark?

That is an Atlantis Meteor Shower surrounded by blue clove polyps

Same here ...

Looks good, hope to upgrade here soon to a bigger tank.

Thanks dzrtrataz and coralreefnc, I'd been planning on upgrading to a larger reef for about a year, wasn't really going to do it this soon but a friend had his for sale and it was an impossible deal to pass up.

Adding two more Vortech MP40w es's this weekend, will be three of them in the tank as I already have one in there, can't wait...polyp extension is unreal so far in the system...I am soooooo loving it, will get pics up in a few minutes of some of the corals. Colors aren't so great with the actinics that are in the tank, but the 96 watt pc actinic supplimental bulbs I ordered for my fixture should be in soon, ordered them yesterday since the ones in the fixture look pretty old.

Also planning on upgrading the MH bulbs soon, what have you guys had the best results with? Thinking Pheonix at this point, have always had T5 fixtures though so would like to hear what everyone has had the best results with.
