GXPKY's 240 Gallons of Addiction!

Pics of some of the corals, the polyp extension is sooo good, loving this upgrade to an 8 ft tank.

New Efflo I picked up today (pretty sure it's an efflo), has two acro crabs living in it too.

Hey nice tank. I have the exact same size tank. Were all those tangs in there already or did some come from your 90 gallon? Also, maybe I missed it but what kind of light are you using? It appears to be a 72" fixture. Great job putting it together so quickly. I had to do pretty the same thing when I set up my tank. Looking forward to seeing the atinic shots ;)

All but the sailfin came with the setup, I moved the sailfin that came with it into our prop tank which has a 2ft x 4ft footprint and plenty of swim room for him. From stand to stand the fixture measures 80 inches, forget the brand and can't find anything on the fixture that says who makes it though, it uses 3 MH 250 watt bulbs, and 4 power compact 96 watt bulbs. Thanks, will get pics up when I get the bulbs installed, hoping they arrive Monday.

What is the green coral in the last picture?

That is a scroll coral, it is more of a brownish color with yellow rim, lighting is crappy for pics till I get the new actinic bulbs.

I love the setup can't wait till I have a place to put a large setup like that.

Thanks a bunch, I am so happy with it, the 90 gallon was just so cramped for room for more corals or anything.

New actinic bulbs came in today, four replacement 96watt 460nm bulbs for the fixture!!! The corals finally have some color!

Acro crab and a hairy crab that seems to be doing very little damage but is soon to be removed, both stay in the coral all the time.

Efflo that my Ritteri stung really nice, healing pretty well though and polyps seem happy, starting to get some green back around the base, and a slight purple around the tips again.

Aaaand, the hairy crab in my efflo got busted leaving only one crab in the acro (an acro crab, at least it belongs there) lol. Here's the little parisite, lost a claw and a leg or two in the battle but I won!

What 250 watt MH double ended bulbs would you guys recommend for replacements? Have always used t5's in the past and would like to know what you guys get the best results with when growing primarily SPS corals.

Names of the chalices in the above pics since i'd forgot and had to look under the discs lol...

AWP Spotlight
AWP Green Sherbert
AWP Hybrid Watermelon
AWP buncha numbers and I forget the name but...I think lithium
Cotton Candy
and some cool unnamed one I picked up at a LFS in North Myrtle Beach on vacation
