I asked when I got mine pointing out a picture of a 1260 times 2 and its just the way it is - I guess the size, length, diameter, etc (mostly of the neck leading up to the cup) of the skimmer is built to best take advantagte of the one times 1260. I asked what if we installed another 1260 on that skimmer and Brian said, if I am not mistaken, that the up pressure of addional 4 or so inches in body would be too much for the neck, etc to handle. So, now I assume that despite the body bubble level, the skimmer is optimized for one times 1260 - and I have no complaints - it just does not have the extra skimming capacity of the 2times 1260. If its enough for your tank, all things considered, I am sure Brian can help make a decision. I feel mine has significant additional capacity on my tank when/if I increase feedings, bioload, etc. One pump = less noise (bubble suction, etc), less to go wrong, less electricity.....
If this is for your 125 - 1260*1 should be more, more than enough in my opinion not taking into consideration if you are going to get an additional itch to a larger tank
The one thing I am very concernd about was the amount of foam in the skimmer body of the a200-1260. In one of the shots posted by jnd it only appears to be 1/2 full. Any thoughts on this?
