Haddoni caught on p-head...

Ok this morning my 3 year old son woke me up saying that my big thing is dead so i go to the tank i found my carpet anemone caught on one of the k3 so i waited to see if it will move it didnt move so i helped it out NO BIG DAMAGE but my water is a little cloudy i was mixing water for my weekly water change so should i wait?

Ill go to the lfs and buy carbon the one i have is old and the wc is going to be tonight because is time to go to work now,

I cut one of the koralia plastic so came out smooth the crpet dont have major damage just the little tentacles are missing from one side


Too bad i had it for sale now i have to wait.

Too bad you can't do the WC and run fresh carbon now. Depending on the damage to the Haddoni, you could end up with some dead fish. When it got caught by the powerhead, most likely some of its tentacles where cut up/released. That very well could spread the stinging cells (( can't remember how to spell the true name of them )) throughout the tank.

This happened to me years ago, and lost my Sunburst (( Serranocirrhitus latus )) anthias from the event.

Secondly, need to try to figure out why the Haddoni released from its spot --- something was making it unhappy.

Lastly, cover those powerheads.

I think you are correct -- at least it looks like it is spelled correctly, but coming from me that doesn't mean much.

I have 1 that the samething happend (not in my tank the previous owner) and it has healed fine! These thing are pretty bullet proof once they are acclamated!

Agreed. But everyone is overlooking how it got to the PH in the first place. How far away was the PH? The carpet was obviously roaming, which suggests it wasnt happy with some condition.

Haddon's anemone situates itself in the substrate.
Powerheads should be up by waterline nowhere near where this anemone species would be.

Too much flow maybe?? Caused anemone to become disgruntled and it got caught up in the flow?
