Haddoni in a Nanocube 24?

SkullV

They Got My Number
Anyone have any experience doing this? The nem and pair of clownfish would be the ONLY livestock in the tank other than liverock and possibly some snails.

Plenty of lighting with a 6x18w Nova Extreme Pro T5 and plenty of flow with 2 425gph Koralia Nanos and a maxijet 1200 for the return.

I wouldn't do it. An S. Haddoni can/will get 24 inches across, and will outgrow that tank. Then there are the water quality issues -- Haddonis will produce a lot of waste, and the inherent water quality issues of smaller tanks.

Works for me! I don't have any issues with water quality or anything like that as I keep up with my tanks VERY well, but the fact that it has potential to be larger then the tank without rock does in the idea.

T rex.. what would you say is minimum tank size for a carpet?

Species only tank, I would say a 40 breeder. For a mixed tank, a 58 could work, but a 75 would be better -- the red Haddoni in my 75 takes up about 1/3 of the tank.

Thanks,

I am going to try and put one in my Elos.. its basically a glorified breeder with just my clowns in it..

they sell some cool green nems at petco here in WA, but I am waiting till i find something a little more special.

2 nems in this tank = bad idea?

IMO/E, 2 (( or more )) different species of anemones doesn't work. But, if they are the same species -- assuming that your tank has the space and can handle the bio-load.

just haddoni's for me...

any idea or opinion as to why the Blue/Red morphs are labled "not hardy" in comparison to green or brown?

JMO -- they are a lot harder to come by, so less of a selection, so ones that aren't as healthy are still available. In addition they usually command a higher price, so that might be a reason too.

But, IME, there is no difference -- as long as you start off with a healthy specimen there isn't any care difference.

I wanted to try and save one of these from evil Petco.. They have been in there about a month and fading fast

If they are fading, then make sure you light-acclimate them also. Light is often overlooked when acclimating nems, but can be equally important as temperature and water chemistry.
