Hadoni blue carpet

Moved On
I have one of these carpets as all of you may know, and i am wondering how rare are these carpets, the best lfs in my area say they only get about 2 in a year, and the second best which hopefully will be the best soon says she has not got one in, in over 2 years, so i am wondering how rare are these guys, i want to get another blue carpet ( will that be ok) to put in my 55 gallon clownfish and anemone tank that i will hopefully be setting up during the summer.

They used to be, but I do see them quite often. They still aren't as cheap as some of the others though.

I don't think they are that rare as you say they are. I see them more frequently. BTW, which lfs are you talking about being the second best? I know its not the saltwater reef store owned by that lady. Aquaholics is the best in the area though.

I think they are getting pretty common these days from Sri Lanka suppliers. If you want rare, try go for red or purple, those are much more rare, however I like my blue the way it is, much more sharp than the "rare" colors.

I agree it is so much more sharper looking than the others, i am going off what i have been told by my lfs on how rare these specimens are and obviously they are very common these days so i should have no problem getting one, but every place i call up, they seem like they have not had one of these in years and i cant get a hold of another one, but since they are common i should be able to get my hands on one.

They are the most common carpet anemone around my area. We don't get them in very often (at least not like BTAs, LTAs), but it isn't because they are rare--they are consistently available to us. It isn't uncommon for them to be fairly rare in other areas, though.

I didn't understand what you were trying to say?

Yep aqua holics is the place to go, there prices are the best in orlando by far, no one even comes close to there prices, they dont mark up big time like other lfs's do. Say if they got a clown juvi trigger in and they paid say 30 bucks for it, they would charge 39.99 which is not a very big mark up like other stores charge, and the same on everything else, they are not a place that mark up things due to there low over head, and there store is really nice. It is in kissimee, dont know how to spell it,lol. The blues must be rare around here b/c no one seems to get a hold of one around here.

They stock pretty much everything and anything, and if they dont have it, they will try there best to get it.

Thats because they get most of their livestock where its cheap. getting fish from the Red Sea is always an extra cost and in this case, aquaholics does not get their fish there. They get their fish from farmbreeders for cheap. I just called them up and asked about it. Bluecarpet, those clown triggers aren't the best quality as other stores. Some stores such as the one I work at get all their fish from the best areas but aquaholics does not. although, that doesn't mean everything they get is cheap bc its not. They have some real nice stuff. Lots of nice inverts. but fish wise is not the best quality.

Let me know where they have clown triggers at farmbreeders for cheap, to my knowledge no one has ever bred clown trigger fish. So that said they can not get clown trigers from farmbreeders b/c no one has breeded them in captivity, all clown trigers are caught from the wild. No matter which store, there is a huge mark up fish no matter what, it is the owners choice to how much he or she will mark up the price.

And i dont think a store would tell you that kind of information to begin with, thats just stupid on their behalf, thats like telling someone that i bought a car for 20 grand but i will sell it to you for 25 grand, it doesnt make sense, but back to the blue carpet, does anyone know where i can get one? I am looking at getting another.

Well according to Linda, I think that was her name, thats what she basically said. Its not a bad idea when they are making good business.

So does anyone know where i can find a blue carpet or is anyone selling a blue carpet. Why are they so expensive if they are a lot more common than i thought. They should really lower the prices of these guys dont you think?

I still don't think any clown triggers are farm breed :) In fact, if it's farm breed, it will be even more expensive, take a look at ORA clowns.

Never thought of that, they would be a lot more expensive if they were farm raised, all farm raised fish are more expensive. But i know for a fact that there is no such thing as farm raised clown triggers.

Clown triggers have never been farm raised and will take a lot of research to breed them in captivity. Hopefully it will be done.
