Hairy mushroom problem

I have a hairy mushroom that had a 6in diameter at my lfs. In my tank it is folded/ bunched up. Not how they look when feeding. The only thing you can see is the normal part of the mushroom(hairy part, the top). What can the problem be?
55 gal, 130 watt pc, parameter good. GSP, ricordea florida, ricordea yuma, hammer coral, zoos, xenia, kenya trees, various mushrooms doing very well.

The hairy mushroom is at the bottom of the 55 on the sand bed.

How long have you had it in the tank, mine took a little time to open up. I don't know if it was the light placement or just ajusting.

It was in the tank for over a week. I placed it where their was little to no flow. The next day the mushroom was totally expanded bigger than what it was in the store. I also moved it to the bottom of the tank.
