Halichoeres recommendations

Thanks arc eye

Scubasteve13, mine has never bothered an invert. I was under the impression a melanurus was more likely to be problematic with inverts, but it's a risk you take with any halichoeres.

Vanuatu melanurus is stunning as can be the biocellatus. Having owned a few of the leopards etc like choati, kuiteri, dusky and so on, I'd say melanurus would have to be one of the most beautiful, especially Vanuatan.

The Yellow Coris wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus) is a great fish especially if you don't have a yellow fish like a Yellow tang already. Note: Do not confuse them with a Banana wrasse (Thalassoma lutescens).

I really like all the xmas wrasses and theres about 3 in the H. family. Radiiants are very pretty but they ship extra horrible I lost a few this way and then gave up on them.

I have a timorensis I really like and you don't see them often. It's also been decent towards other wrasses as he was my first H. in the tank. Now I have 6.

Get them as juveniles, keep them well fed and a tank with pods for grazing most of the time they are fine. Except the red coris and dragon wrasse (just 2 that came to mind) would definitely not recommend it for a reef tank

what's the main differences of ones say from Fiji?

Colours. Vanuatu melanurus is an amazing vibrant blue/green with and markings are more fluro imo
I'd only seen Aussie and fiji ones and while nice hadn't really appealed to me over Dusky and the like. When I saw Vanuatu was blown away
