Hammer treatment needed but which?

Hi all,

Just got this Hammer a week ago from the LFS for a few $ telling me I could save it.
But the infection(?) seems to continue after these combined treatments I did 5 days ago:
1st: 15 min. lugol bath, then
2nd: 3 min. fresh water bath.
Removing of dead tissues.

I chose these approaches reading Borneman's and thinking it could be a brown jelly or protozoan infection. There seems to be some jelly in the unhealthy tissue.
Now the propagation rate has decreased but still continues.

Any idea?

My parameters:
Ph: 8,2
Temp: 78 F
Sal: 1.025
Cal: 420
Alk: 8 dkh
Nitrates: 10 ppm (2.3 mg)

I have a wall hammer that was damaged in shipment. It is very slowly covering the dead section with new flesh. The part that was un-damaged is doing very well. It wasn't as damaged as the one you have but I would leave it alone and keep it out of heavy flow.

Yeah, my first error was probably to set it in a too heavy flow. My tank is small (65g), holds Acros, flow lovers, so low flow is hard to find.
Happy to see that yours is growing back on dead squeleton. I thought it has to generate new coralites to grow, but not recolonize old one. Interesting.
Now infection has reached the last polyp but has disapeared. We will see if the last polyp which seams healthy, can pass through this.
