Hanna Alk reagent

CO2 probes are around $1k. I have access to one due to my job. 8.5 was referring to pH. I am a chemist type. Good luck. When I get my correctly functioning bottles of Hanna Reagent and create a correctly massed testing solution to check accuracy, I will attempt to see why it changes over time due to components used. This should not happen and must be corrected by Hanna if they want a product that will be trusted and purchased.:spin3:

Hanna Alk reagent

I'm not sure that applies here. But your answer is pretty short. I would think it would be absolutely necessary to measure actual dissolved CO2 in the tank water and not just CO2 in the air. The CO2 content of the tank water is unlikely to be at equilibrium with the room co2 at all times.

I got my replacements yesterday. And the new lot #s show ok. Hurray! Interesting thing I noticed is that the reagent seal went back to clear plastic from foil. Coincidence?

Maybe I should buy the new alk checker and have the packets like the po4 Checkers.

The picture shown on Hanna's site for the new checker is misleading. It's showing a Chlorine Checker.
The new one displays hardness in dKh vs ppm. It does the math for you.
It still uses the liquid reagent.

ups

ups

I just got a tracking number for the replacement of my faulty regent.
I should be thankful for that. It took about 30 days.

I got a order notification and said shipping soon. I bought three new ones direct from Hanna however as I have too many tanks to be waiting for the replacement.

I emailed them yesterday and they said it wasn't shipping out for another three weeks. My bad reagent is reading 5.8 and my Red Sea is reading 10. I was dosing to get my alk up from the faulty Hannah reading before I knew there was a problem. Was a low reading the problem y'all were having with the bad reagent?

Wow. Yeah always double check with another method when you get results that are way off. I really just use my checker for consistency. I don't trust any of these tests to give an accurate number. But if it's 145 each time I test i know things are adjusted right.
