harlequin shrimp not eating just standing on his dinner.

My harlequin shrimp has grabbed a CC star fish brought it back to his cave and is just sanding on its flipped over body. He has been like this for two days. My concern is that star fish is dead and is going to start messing with the water parameters. My tank is only 28gal. Water parameters are in range, just wasting money and have no idea what it is eating.This is the second starfish it has done it too.

Anyone have something like this?

It can take weeks for them to eat a whole starfish. He's eating it, just slowly. They start with the tips of the legs to keep the star alive while they feed.

And if I recall correctly they inject a paralytic to keep the starfish alive but immobile.
