Harvesting hermits?

well my dad was nice anough to get some feeder hermits on his way home from work. i noticed master blaster do something strange. he made a fense of some crushed coral and sand and put alot of shells in it. whenever he wants to eat he comes and gets a hermit shell. i new they were smart but not that smart...

could he just be decorating and notice a shell has leggs or is he, keeping the hermits in a "cage" to eat for later?

Mine lines her entry way with coral rubble and plugs up any hole in her live rock cave with rubble too. They do like landscaping and adding extra rubble or shells will only entice more landscaping. As for building a corral for the hermits anything is possible. More fun than a ant farm! :D

Dr. Roy is really the one to ask that question...
Every day, one of mine does something odd that makes me blink my eyes in wonder.
My first O. scyllarus (Dagon) seems to have really taken a liking to one of my cats. He sits in a tank low to the ground, just at cat-height.
My female cat will meow and put her nose up to the tank and Dagon will come gliding out, right up to the wall and touch at her with his antennae. He likes to hang out with her...the other cat,however...
I keep catching my male cat and Dagon just staring at one another, like two gunfighters waiting for the other guy to draw his gun.
Could the World finally have someone able to beat the cat in the proverbial staring contest???
