Have mini carpet anemones ever hosted clownfish?

I really would like an anemone for my clownfish. They look so lonely without one.
I have an all sps tank. I am worried that if I get a large anemone, it may stunt the growth of the sps due to chemical warfare.

I would like a pizza anemone, but apparently they are fish eaters and everyone tells me not to get one.

I am wondering if anyone has ever seen a maxi mini carpet/pizza anemone host any kind of clownfish.

I hear of powerheads hosting, leathers hosting, softies hosting, even a spot on a rock...but I cant find out why they would host a large carpet anemone, but never a small one....
Why would they rather have nothing than a small one...

If you're so heart-set on it just get one and try it. Even if you find someone on here who HAS had it happen, they will be the extreme rarity and they likely won't be able to give any useful advice because each clown picks it's host differently. There's no guarantee, even when the clown/anemone combo is common in the wild.

Technically, a clown will host a powerhead if it wants. Or a barren rock. Or hair algae. So YES it's possible. But whether it's happened before or not really won't affect whether or not YOUR clown will do it. Choosing an anemone that is a natural match only increases your odds of success. Choosing anything that closely resembles the natural match is second best in the odds. And picking something that is nothing like the natural pairing puts you at a very low chance of success, but it's never impossible. Just close. :)

The is a really old post, but I have two saddle backs and 8 minis in a 29g biocube. I was told that they will not host them and the clowns would not show interest. The problem with some stores are the employees who act like their opinions are fact. One manager arrogantly told me matter of fact that the clowns would kill the minis or vice versa. My clowns lay on them like pillows. Sometimes on their sides. Super cute. They have been hosting in them for a long time. So to the morons that have no experience and stake the claim that it's impossible or that it will end in disaster, you are wrong.

Well then, we need photos.

I have several and my clowns dont look at it ever. I have 5 sexy shrimp that host mine.
My maxi mini has also eaten allot of fish. More than my gigantea, Every time a fish disappears one of my maxi's has got it...

my buddy's clarki killed 2 or 3 mini maxies and a condi nem by loving them to death. So has a clown ever tried to seek one as a host, sure but as at least one other person has said that means squat for what your clown will do.
