My maroons have never laid eggs before. but im seeing some stranger than normal behavior and was curious.

1. my juvi is spitting sand and cleaning rocks. he never did this before

2. female started moving sand agian. But has cleared more the last two days than she usually moves in a month

3. this is what got me thinkin..
On the bottom of the tank where she exposed glass she had her mouth strait down on it like a suction cup cleaning it. its really funny.

I tried putting a ceramic tile on the oppisite side of the nem, but right after I did it the nem started shrinking on that side and looking strange, so I took it out (maybe just paranoia i donno, I soaked the tile for a day before i put it in)

oh edit edit... can someone please show me a pic of an ostiavor (spelling sorry)

my girls got a we tiny pencil lead type size thing between her bottom fins, but it looks real tiny.

and shes going upside own putting her belly on the underside of a ledge/cave thing

practice?

She may be seeing her refection now that she has the spot cleaned off.
I would put the tile (upside down) over the spot that she has cleared.

It was really weird.. see the ledge type rock on the left of the nem? she was litterally upside down under the ledge rubbing her belly on the rock and then the juvi was cleaning.. i donno i dont have a clear view under there.

I have a question.. are eggs always laid where the light hits them? or will clowns lay them in the dark areas as well?

Ill try the tile agian tomorrow upside down there.

good point on the reflection comment, maybe she was biting and not cleaning but somthings going on.
Im guessing my male is just over a year old now. his last stripe is yellow now..
