My name is Joanna Murray and I am a PhD student at the University of Portsmouth. My research is specifically concerned with ornamental polychaetes, namely sabellids and serpulids, and over the past couple of years I have worked with wholesalers and retailers to find out more information about the UK’s trade in ornamental animals. However, the hobbyist is fundamental in controlling the future and direction of the trade and as a result, I would like to ask to you to take up this opportunity to get involved in my research and have your say in an online survey. The survey is anonymous and only takes a few minutes to complete; nonetheless you will be taking part in scientific research which may influence the way the UK controls and monitors it trade in ornamentals.
