Haven't posted pics in a while

I don't have any dictoya near the bottom of my tank. It's all in the rocks near the middle and top of the tank. :(

they climb rocks and glass no problem.
I have a 4" queen conch it will never climb rocks or glass it will reach up to the rock but never climb.
Very nice colors Joe.
Good luck with the Upgrade.

Joe, you have such stunning SPS. I wish you were closer so I could see them in person, especially with you tearing down the tank.

I'd like to suggest you split up your pieces among several tanks, because you never know what may happen to your friend's tank, and end up losing everything you worked so hard for.

Take more pictures! :D

I sure would love to be one of those friends that are housing your corals for you! Stunning colors! That pink milli is to die for. I've never seen anything so pink before! Thanks for sharing them.

If you need me to house any frags for you I'd be more thank happy!

Glad to see your back into the swing. Amazing corals you have. Now just a bit about my tank. I had the same problem. I know you guys here dont like additives you cant test for but this is what i do. I use my phosban reactor. I know some have problems with it but i seem to do well. I also use something called marine tlc. Its basically nitro bacteria but its amazing stuff. My hair, bubble, dictoya and all other algae disappeared in 6 wks. And I slacked recently about adding it monthly and i got the red slime on my corals as you got. Started adding again and poof, gone. I have dsb and lots of lr not cooked. Just some info. That and weekly water changes does me good. Oh, and cant forget my yellow tang. Hes the bomb.

I'm using Ocean Pure right now. I was using Oceanic. I got the Ocean pure for free to try out, so far I like it.

Debating BB or DSB too. ;) I think either will work, I've never run BB before so I might go that route just to see. Not sure yet.

I think from BB to SSB to DSB, they all work when you're diligent and you have good equipment. I think with your skills you could make anything work.

I can't wait to see your new tank. I hope it matches all that Natuzzi.

OceanPure by TAAM? Very interesting, I'll look into that salt, were you pleased with Oceanic? Did you see any downfalls with Oceanic?

I've only got one chair that is Natuzzi ;)

I agree that they all can work. That's why I'm still undecided.

Yup that's the one. I had no problems with Oceanic. I just had the opportunity to try OceanPure salt and was given a lot of it.

Revised ... Ultra modern furniture. ;-)

What is your timing? Are you going to build your own cabinetry again? We'll all be waiting impatiently.

Good luck!

BTW, I'm doing something similar to Sunny. All my rock will sit in starboard, but it will be precisely cut to be only where the rock is. The front and sides will have sand. I've removed a lot of substrate in a lot of sandbeds, and I always find the most foul sand is under the rocks. I'll have flow keeping that area clear of detritus settling. If I ever need, I can take my rocks out without a sandstorm/nitrate boom. Or I can replace my sandbed whenever need be. I've seen quite a few European tanks that replace their SB (and Steve Weast).

Yeah, I'm going to build the hood and stand again. That should be a lot of fun, I'm looking forward to it. Since I first built that stand I have acquired a ton of woodworking tools and improved my abilities substantially... so 1) It should be much easier for me and 2) It should come out much better. :)

I'm still on the fence for what the new tank will be BB or DSB. I'm leaning to a BB just to try a change so I can compare the two more fairly.

Good luck w/the new set up Joe, you will love the 36" depth. I aquascaped 10 times because I just didn't know what to do with all that front to back room.

JB,

Out of curiousity i was wondering after all the advancements in reefkeeping will you be using all the same products? Many times after i break down my tanks i have found it was a great time to upgrade. I was wondering what skimmer will you be running? I noticed you ran a venturi life reef and with all this needlewheel RC skimmer talk all over i just wanted to see which route you may be taking?
