Hawaii Fish Order

Ryan,

Dude.. don't mean to be a wise a**.. but I grew up in Honolulu.. and some family in the Big Island. If we are waiting on the rain to die down, it going to take a while.. It rains every other day there and some parts daily..

Where did you say the diver are diving from? exactly what island and location?

That's the part that got me baffled; I've always been told that it rains every other day and often once a day briefly. Sounds like he may just have to dive a lil deeper! :D

I have dove in pouring rain (no thunder or lightning) before. Once you're underwater, you don't even notice the rain. Unless the rain is preventing the boat from going out, a little rain shouldn't stop a dive. But what do I know - I have never collected fish before. :D

I have always figured these fish for deep water fish anyhow, so what does the rain look like when you are down deep? I have always wanted to dive, but was afraid I would get sucked in and never come back to work or anything else for that matter. :)

You have to be careful when you go diving in the rain. You might get wet when you're back on the boat.

PS - you should get certified. Maybe later during the summer, I want to try to coordinate a MARS dive at Monterey (Point Lobos?)

Too funny!

But on a serious note, I think if he's diving on the Big island the water can become very murky after or during a rainstorm. The run off makes the water murky, and I think the murky water not only makes it difficult to see, but there is a higher chance for a shark attack in murky waters.

I have gone swimming and snorkling in pouring rain in the big island.. Unless its thunder storm with high wind, the underwater clarity is not affected. But daily regular tropical rain should not.

I agree with the run off causing the water to be murky, but if the fish is in deeper water.. meaning further out into the ocean, away from the beach.. then it should not affect it.

Just my opinion..i'm in no hurry.. as long as I get my fish before summer.. or else i'll just go fishing in Lapsan or Jesus 's tanks..

I guess at this point, none of us really "know" the conditions this person is diving in. It's possible his diving location is affected by even mild rain, or it's possible he's a big chicken in the rain.

Anyway, I hope everyone gets their fish soon because if this is successful, I might be interested in placing an order on the second group buy.

Is there room for me? I haven't dove in 3 years and I really miss it.:D

Last weekend, I went diving in Monterey with a diving club that I am a member of. Anyways - someone was telling a story about how someone he knew had a dive class in Hawaii canceled because bad water condition. The visibility was 30-40 ft. Dang - that's great water condition in Monterey!

Those warm water divers are a bunch of wuss.... (or maybe I am just jealous).

I'm one of them! :D I don' t know how you guys do it, Minh. The water here is just too freakin' cold. And those 7.5mm suits...man, not fun. :D

bah, a good suit is barely noticable. I take it from your comments yo've never worn a Henderson  Try one out someday, you'll like it :D But hey, I've logger hundreds of hours in our waters and none in the tropics  I don't know what I'll do with out my suit :D

Keep warm in a 7.5mm? Easy - just pee A LOT. Unfortuately, peeing isn't a good option for me because I dive in a drysuit. :D

Ummmmm...... have a much better time?

Sissy boys! :lol

I got my certification in 44 degree water and 2 feet of visibility (Folsom Lake in February). My instructor assured me the upside: "Every dive you take for the rest of your life will be better than this one." :D

I had to swim up hill both ways with no legs......in the snow....with a straw and no tank :)

Eeesh Juan, sounds um, fun? :) I've been in both, 2 foot vis and 44 degress, it sucks :(
