Hawaiian Group buy

funny thing is i never do. but these came right from the reef. so its hit or miss. my angels broke out in some ick. stress related i think. then two days later gone.

qt ing fish is always a good idea but annoying.

Most of the fish in the GB where caught no more than 7 days before shipment. Regardless of how "fresh" off the reef, it is absolutly a good idea to QT. I hold Hawaiian fish in a 1200 fish only system but it is suseptible to disease just as any other closed system. My theory for healthy fish is quick capture, lots of water changes, no crowded tanks, and fast shipping.

If interested I dedicated a few pages on my website to explain exactly how your fish are aquired. I tried being as honest as possible to give a realistic view of how I catch fish. Try getting a description like this from your LFS! The last few pages are soon to come.

CaptiveReef,

If Les would like to start a group buy on anything he can post it like everyone else has.

Just to be sure everyone is aware, any commercial members such Les, Tony, myself, etc. would need to make any such postings in the LIRA private forum, not on RC ;)

emelton - What size tank do you have the Moorish Idols in and what are they eating? I've always wanted one for my personal tank, but haven't gotten one due to their poor survival rate in most home aquariums.

Idols are in a 90 gal and are eating mysis and a chopped clam seaweed mixture.

1 jumped out, one got sucked into my seio and the other two just died about 5 months after the buy.
The two I have now are smaller than the last ones were.
