So I have an awesome flo green & purple shoom that hitch hiked on some LR. He came off while digging a gorilla crab out & now I have him rubber banded to another rock. The problem is, I unfortunately damaged him with the rubber band splitting part of his side. So... how big of a deal is this? How long will it take him to attach? Is there anything else I can/ should do?

It will take a little time but I am sure it will come around. In the future I would suggest putting the shroom in a plastic tub or glass with LR rubble on the bottom and place that container in your tank on the sand and it will attach to a rock after a couple of weeks.

Not at the moment, maybe I can take some in the morn. when I woke up today it had fallen off that rock so I put it in a cup like you said & it's pretty hard to see right now. I'll def try tho it's an awesome color!

I did exactly what kingfisher suggests to do and it worked perfectly for me with my purple shroom. It only took a couple days for it to attach, but I left it a while longer to make sure it was stuck on there enough where the flow wouldn't blow it off.

Yeah , it is better to keep it in the container longer so it gets a really good foot hold. I was impatient the first couple of times and when I put it in the display tank the current blew it off in a couple of days. So I waisted that time and the time it took to reattach. Once it is really attached you can glue or putty that piece of rubble to a larger rock.

:lmao: I did the same thing with mine. I saw it was attached and got excited and placed it back in it's place too soon only to be blown away again.

Haha, I will def keep that in mind. I couldn't get photos because is deep in a cup now. But I will certainly leave it alone for a while & get pics later. Thank you all for the advice!

A wound will usually heal right up unless the 'mouth' is damaged. Keep your water quality spot-on (my sig carries some good parameters) and do not allow any fish to 'pick' at the wound. Bristleworms are not a problem: they'll sometimes clean a wound, without worsening it; but fishes can become a pita.

Idk to be honest. It came in as a hitch hiker on some live rock. Jess gonna take pics as soon as It attached but still hasn't yet. I've been leaving It along in this cup for days & I noticed this morning It rolled off somehow... When I can get a pic I'll put it up for ID

I finnally got It out of the cup, but it's still not attached too well... should I just leave it like this? Or is there something wrong with it? It doesn't open up so much anymore.
