Help, anemone looking weird

there's no way i can do it, no time plus no quarentine tank at the moment, i do plan on getting one for something like this in the future, but am leaving to dry tortugas next week, and italy in a couple of months, so i will have to wait and see how this plans out by itself

You mentioned previously you had a buddy that can take it and possibly care for it. With you leaving soon I really think this guy needs treatment and if you can't provide it maybe he can. Whatever you do don't leave this in your tank while you're gone.

is say he is still wrong the reason it wouldnt eat is because it is stressed. the amount of energy it takes to consume solid food is tremendous and based on your pictures that anemone would likely go downhill even quicker if you tried feeding it. i am still certain it can pull through and survive this. it needs to rest and recover and getting some light will aid in this process. so if you have to move rocks around to give him a little light then do so.
but domination i have read alot of your posts on different threads and it seems in general you are knowledgable and give good helpful information but on this particular subject you are misinformed feeding that nem was never a good idea and still is not a good idea.

I think you are right in waiting, but be prepared if it "melts"

I have saved them in this same situation. I'll also say that this nem isn't totally bleached. The tan color is zooxanthellae so it still has some. This is a good thing. If you can get it to stay in the light it will gain strength. If you feed it food it will be too hard on it and tear it down even more than it already is. Give it time but keep it in the light. Just be prepared to remove it quickly like I said.

Bravo even if it is the right idea, am not wasting my time on something that would not eat anyways, what am I gonna do?? Open its mouth and feed it??? Not quite possible lol, so let's hope she can recover by itself, she is in a place where she's getting some useful light right now, I truly believe this was my foul, about 3 weeks ago I gave her a piece of shrimp the side of my thumb, she was kinda struggling to eat it and she did, but after that she spend like 2 weeks spitting out some kind of brown slim, I just remember about the creaking piece of raw shrimp

I didn't know this about the big piece of shrimp. Did you happen to peel the shell off of it first? If not it's trying to puke it back up and this would be why it's still got the tan color, it hasn't lost all of its zooxanthellae but is losing them for sure.

Right this second, where it is now it is getting some lighting for sure, if it die how do I know? And then if it does, how long till it can nuke my tank?

It's hard to tell how long you have...some say it will start letting off a white substance in the tank which is what is said to nuke the tank...I've always been told by two close friends whos been reefing five plus years that once it starts to not stay on a rock...willingly it's very close

Hate to say it but I told you....I knew it was dying...it was turning grey and now white....sorry to hear man...my pictures can prove my theory themselves and everyone I've talked to about it here agree and we have taken care of reefs for over 5 years....when I said feed him I should have specified a little food and turn the lights down...obviously it was getting to much light since it kept moving downward in the tank.

The water is fine, Light is fine, and other corals are doing well. That is odd. What could be causing anemone to stress out? If it is infection, how do anemones get infected? Do they get infected because they are stress out, or do they get stress out because of infection?

Just read the entire thread. Sorry you've got a sick nem. FWIW I have 4 gbta and one rbta. I rarely if ever feed them anymore. I used to feed them maybe once a month a bit of clam but haven't in a good while now. They thrive with light and what ever bits of food manage to float by. They do catch the occasional shrimp molt and eat that as well. Mine are all 6+" in size. Guess I am just throwing in my .02 whether or not feeding is required.

Thanks mate, that's quite a nice nem, yea feeding it I do know most of the time is not require, am still wondering if maybe the big piece of shrimp didn't do good on it or maybe he ate my royal gramma who's been gone for a while

They can catch any healthy fish that they can catch...usually small slow ones though
