Help - Holy Coralline

I could be mistaken but doesn't corraline dislike being exposed to air? If this is so you could drain the tank for a few minutes then fill in back up. Then peel off the algae when it turns white.

You could try a flipper with their acrylic safe blade. I know the metal one works much better on glass than I'd expect from a magnet.

Ok well I can't tell you the best way to do it but I can tell you how I would do it. I'd get a few cheap buckets (no need to do anything expensively here) but I would take everything out and then take the tank outside and wash it up and whole your at it rinse your sand off that's always good to do too, I'd make it a whole day project

I agree and was going to suggest that.

This way you could wet-sand or polish any scratches that might be made during the cleaning process.

Then setup the tank for more accessibility by adding a access hatch to the front or moving the unit all together.

Drain tank place livestock in a holding tank, fill with vinegar let sit overnight drain, rinse and it will be like new :)

Holy geez, batman! That's a lot of coralline! I'd prob move everything to another tank, drain it, then get to work. Seems like too large of a project to pull off with an active reef just inches away.

It took about 4-6 months of being lazy to get like that. I'm a man of perseverance so I'll get it a bit at a time... As far as my mag level, I just tested its as 1200 I guess I'll work to raise it a bit. As to the question of how do I keep my calcium/Alk levels up. I have a GEO 624 reactor and a Kalk reactor. Thanks for the ideas, I'll keep everyone posted of my progress.

Yeah I like coraline ( on the back glass ) sheesh . seriously thogh the Idea of taking the tank and filling it with vinegar is prob the best . or just get a glass tank
