Help- Male Perc getting attacked

We have a pair or tank raised true percs. Had them about a year. One grew to be bigger than the other, and is obviously the female. The male would often do his submissive shake for her.

This morning I thought it strange that the male was not in the anemone with the female. (he was at the opposite side of the tank)

Now I find them constantly fighting - ignoring feeding time too. The male is looking a little beat up.

Do I have to separate them? Has she rejected him? They've been inseparable until now.

Thanks for any help!

Sometimes the female just feels the need to remind the male that she is the boss. This might be the case here.
My female beat the crap out of my male, to the point I thought he was dead. This was after 8 months of being paired up. They are back to normal now.

Update - the two are definitely on non-speaking terms. Sometimes the male is back at the nem and the female in the opposite corner or the tank. Then later, they are reversed.

Very strange....hopefully they work things out :)

FYI - They are back together again. A little rough looking. Both of them have pale lips from ...well...locking lips!

Yesterday I was feeding the anemone a piece of silverside, and as I was holding the food in the hemostat to thaw in the tank, little bits of fish floated by the nem and the male clown grabbed it and fed the nem! He did it twice. Very cool. I haven't seen this behavior out of them before.
