Help me decide/New tank size

Wow! Now that is getting it done. Let me know if you need an extra set of hands. Hopefully this will be the last week I can come over during the day for a while.
 
Absolutly Mike, Your welcome to come over and help but I must get some tools together for the build. I have most of what I need except one Item I have to round up or buy one, Rick hopefully has a pocket joiner I can borrow? Hint Hint then all I need Is the material. And a big heater for the garage so we don't freeze out there. I also need a 40 Breeder If anyone has one for sale?
Mike I hope so too, You need a job more than I need help!

I have a 15,000 BTU propane heater that is perfect for heating a garage if you want to borrow it. You just need propane.
 
Andy, Thanks But I just got off the phone with Mel, He I one of the two guy's who bought my big tank. Funny thing Is I asked him to borrow his pocket joiner and he asked why? After I told him to build my new stand and canopy, He basically said to give him the dimensions and an Idea what type trim and doors I wanted It would be to his benefit to just build them for me as It would only take him 20 minutes to build but several hours to take his commercial joiner apart to loan to me. He builds Custom Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinets. Plus he will spray stain and then use marine poly to seal It all In a satin finish Just like custom cabinets all professionally sprayed.
Just how cool Is this, I almost did not believe my ears! Plus It will all be In left over Maple
that he has laying around, and the cost will be for material only. So I offered to help him set up his system that he Is putting together for free. Just goes to show what goes around comes around. What a day I'm afraid to go to sleep In fear I will miss something.
I may get dressed again and go buy a lottery ticket! To those above my pay grade thank you for a wonderful day. And you too Mel If you read this.

Pure awesomeness! Fish people are some of the nicest people around. Karma is a powerful thing and I am sure you have a decent backlog owed to you. Glad to see it come in such a cool way. :)
 
Yup, It's great when you are on the other end of the stick, And people always surprise you when you least exspect It seems to me! As hard As I have tried today Is going much slower mostly research on my remaining Items needed to start the build. I am at least filling a tub with water and Vinegar to run the skimmer In, Can't wait to see how this one works all I've read says It a winner.
Does anyone have a HQI Fixture minus the ballast for sale???
Or any 36" Reflectors and T5 Endcaps I could use 4 of each

Made a little more progress today, Got my HQI pendant, DE Bulb Pheonix 14K, Two Retro T5 Kits, Total 4x39W 36" bulbs all from Chris and should be In on Wensday. Plus thanks to Acecool I found my 40 breeder to build my sump.
My Cabinets are due sometime early next week to be finished and ready for P/U, Cool Beans Thanks Mel.
Hope to start adding the baffels to the sump tomorrow depends on quick I can cut teeth Into Acrylic for my Fuge Overflow, Plus make my Sock holder bracket and get them siliconed In place.
I will take Photos and try to start a build thread on this one but will see how that goes as I usually get going and forget to document like I should.
The Critter got a new shipment of Frags today, I needed to make some room and he was so kind to take them off my hands today, Thanks Chris...

Skimmer almost looks even bigger in the pictures as it does in person. ;) When is the stand due in?
 
I am glad to see someone else running a vertex around here. Once we get everything switched over mine will be on the 140. It wouldn't fit under my stand for my 55, so I am itching to see how well it works.
 
Thanks Guy's, I got my Baffles Blacked out and Silicone In place and also scraped all that black paint off the sump from when It was used as a tank.
I also was able to complete a little more of the plumbing after another trip to Lowe's!
I will most likely see the Cabinet builder tomorrow and see what I can find out, Fingers crossed he he...
My Reef lo 200pro was due for a Vinegar bath cleaning so I took that one off line and It's soaking until tomorrow or Sunday so It was an all fish day for the most part. Ready to just relax for the rest of the evening.
I'll get some more Photos tomorrow as I'm pooped now, See Ya

What made you go with a vertex over the i-Tech?
 
Amazing progress today Bill! You got a lot done even with a visitor bugging you. ;) Seriously, you have more energy then me!

Those are very nice but I don't have the hieght to do anything like that, At omly 15" high. I'll try to get that kind of effect It will just be lower In mine! More like the shallow part of the reef that Is exposed during low tide.
That Bonsai look Is awesome but hard to duplicate without using rods drilled Into the rock.
Once I get my rock I'll play around with It until I get what I want, This time It won't be live so I can take my time until I get It just right.
