Help me decide on next purchase

Hi guys, I need some advises for next equipment
I like to get. Currently I have 46G, 36 x 12~16 x 19ish
and have koralia 2, koralia 3 for powerhead and think
I have some dead some behind rocks.. so I like to upgrade
the powerheads.... saved about 150 dollars atm

1. Vortech mp40w w/ live.com cash back, I can get for
around 280ish... and if I sell koralia... only need around 230 dollars..

2. Tunze nano wavebox.... again.. w/ live.com cash back...
close to 260ish... (I probably need 1 korealia or keep both)

3. sell/trade koralia to 2 tunze 6025 or 6055.... probably 60???

or.....

I can invest on AC jr which comes out 220ish... for
controller, temp probe, dc8, and serial number
or 280 for controller, lab temp probe, lab ph probe, dc8, and serial
number...

my heater constantly at 77.9 and when lights on w/ fan.. 77.5
so not much of swing throughout the day/night...

What would be the most wise purchase w/ my saved money???

P.S. I currently have pair of true percula and blue flasher wrasse...
what would be good for next fishes to put??? another wrasse
perhaps??

I think a MP20 would be better for that tank.

What kind of corals are you keeping?

If SPS go for the flow!!!

I haven't decided which corals Im gonna go..

but probably zoas for now.. and some sps once tank gets

matured the reason Im going mp40w over 20 is more feature

(not sure) and possibly upgrading to bigger tank in yr or so

You can upgrade the MP20 to a MP40 later on there is a kit to do it that just came out.

thanks.. think upgrade kit is 150.. so 300+ 150 would be 450...

30bucks over just buying mp40w in first place.. and I thought

since Im going to use vortech as wave maker.... wouldn't be

not enough water flow?? (let's say 3 sec for 2000gph then next

3sec for 500ghp assuming using mp20) w/o koralia... (I want to

just have vortech if im going to vortech route w/o koralia)

so I thought to make the wave... 3000gph for few sec wouldn't

be too much flow in 46G.. but I haven't had vortech so...

well since around June... Microsoft wants to get share of
search engine market.... against yahoo, google, etc....
so they made www.live.com for search engine... as ppl tends to
be to anti-microsoft.. LOL..... ppl didin't really use it.. that's why
Microsoft announce this cash back... it only works on eBay though
(only "buy now" items... don't work on best offer or bid I think)..
and percentage of cash back is depends on the time...
usually 20 to 35%.. currently 25%.. was 30% till today lol..
basically go to live.com... and search "vortech pump" or "ps3"
and on the top of the page.. there will be dollar sign and
"live search cashback"... and if you click that.. then page goes to
ebay.. and next to search box in eBay.. should have dollar sign
and "live search cashback".. and after you press "buy now"... it
should say whatever percentage.... and when you are ready
to pay w/ paypal it should say how much money you should get
back...assuming 30%... 420bucks vortech pump has cash back of
126 dollars but you have to wait 60days in order to receive the money.
these cash back money can go to your bank acc, paypal acc, or
microsoft can even send you a check of whatever amount... to your
house... Here's catch.. have to buy "buy now" items.... have to wait
60days... (there's website and shows how many days you have to
wait...), shipping cost does not apply... and mostly.. waiting period
of 60 days, and maximum amount of each cash back is up to 200
dollars and... can only use 12 times a yr

don't get the vortech. their CS is garbage.

if you buy the vortech thru ebay, they will not honor the warranty on it. good luck on getting any CS if **** goes wrong. this is from recent experience.

Vortech is great if there isn't any problem..

and vortech sux if unit was defected when got it...

continue to having issues

one question I should ask to Ecotech would be...

if reputable store had ebay acc and sells vortech... (petstore

for example... sister company for Marinedepot I believe)..

could get warranty?? since it's actual store.. not by random

ppl?

hey bluenassarius, I just got email back from Ecotech...
and as long as the store is under ecotech's retailer....
then they will honor the warranty for it... so price must be
420 not 409 or auction.... I can see at least Finsdepot
has Ebay store that will be under warranty... so shouldn't be
problem....

so...... vortech or tunze nano wave box on 46G???

Thats what ecotech said now but when you do need a warranty claim, its a different story, you will be denied. Guess you have to also learn it the hard way. =/

I see.... trying to save 100bucks= hard.... I guess...

though... let's say I asked... finsdepot has ebay acc and finsdepot

is under ecotech's retailer on the website.... and if ecotech says

they will honor it by email.. then... they can't deny since I have email

saying they would honor??? (maybe I should just buy from

retailer... but 100bucks is alot...)
