Help my Valentine Puffer is attacking one of my two peculiar clowns.

I have just bought two peculiar clowns (1.25 inch long) and a valentine striped puffer (1.5 inch long) and 10 pounds of live rocks yesterady. Last night I setup the live rock and put these three fish plus two green spotted puffers together at the same time to the tank.

The valentine puffer got adapted to the tank the fastest. He started nibbing on the live rocks. And was not afraid of the other fish even though the GSP are 2.5 inch long and three times the size of him.

This morning my valentine puffer started nibbing on one of the clown fish. Poor clown has two bite mark on his fins. I saw one of the attack with my own eyes.

So I captures the puffer and put it in a bowl and let him sit there for 3 hrs. So I wanna know whats the best way to make him stop attacking.

You could put him in a container w/ air holes in the tank so that he will adjust to the other fish. Maybe a strawberry basket. Also all that stuff is way too much for a 15 gallon tank. The two clowns would put you at your limit.

I just put him back in the tank, and he is now attackin the GSP. What the hell, the GSP are running away. This is really weird case I was afraid that the GSP would attack him in the first place but it is totally the opposite.

This is really sad because I want them to live in peace.

Take him back to the LFS. Puffers can be vicious. They should only be kept in species or aggressive tanks. If they want to eat something that wont fit in their mouth they will simply rip it into bite sized pieces. I would hate for your clowns to meet this fate.

Like Ryan said, puffers get way to big for a 15gl.

Put him in a tank with much larger fish.

Puffers are full time predators, you have them in with prey.
