Help! Power outage in summer

Hey, I'm pretty new to reef keeping (I have a 100L tank has been up and running for about 18months)

I live in Australia and our power is currently out.
It is 43 Celsius right now (109F) and my tank is 27C and climbing. I've been periodicly adding ice cubes to desperately cool it down but I'm not having much luck. Unfortunatelywe don't have a generator.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help keep it cool? Thanks!

Hi there! Wish it was summer here! It is like 20 degrees Fahrenheit! North America! Ice cubes in a zip lock bag works good....or run cold water out of your faucet into water bottles and put them in there!! Do you know how long your power will be out?

I'm definitely missing the cold right now!
That's a good idea, didn't even think of that.
I'm not sure, hopefully not too much longer, they usually don't let it be out too long in this heat.

Thank you!

I would be happy to bring my generator to you. You could just book me a flight out of San Francisco
Cheers! Mark

Also, make sure the ice cubes are in a container or bag...if you drop them in and they melt, they will lower your salinity.

When I had a tank in building with no air conditioning, I used to freeze 3or4 2 liter bottles that were about 2/3 full of water(so they wouldnt burst from freezing), then rotate them through the sump till the tank temp was appropriate. I usually had at least one in the sump and at least one fully frozen back up and a couple in the process of refreezing on hot summer days.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Fortunately power came back on in the afternoon and everything so far is looking okay today.
I think I'll freeze a few bottles of water that I can drop in as a just in case for the future.
