Help! What can I put under a 14g Bio Cube to protect the furniture?

I am putting in a new 14 g Bio Cube, and it's sitting on a pretty nice piece of furniture. What can I put underneath it to protect the furniture, but that hopefully will not show up?

I was thinking maybe a placemat, but I'm not sure that it would do the trick. Any suggestions or ideas?

I use moving blankets under mine (UHAUL). I just cut them to size.

A plastic place mat should do. I'd think the moving blanket would hold water against the table which wouldn't be good.

I used a heavy towel under a fresh water tank for yrs and the table though cheap still edded up damaged.

Water is very unforgiving , your best bet would be to use a stand thats expendible. But still bio cubes are a real clean setup's and the ones ive seen dont look to messy.

buy a miscut piece of granite or something from dummy depot. They have a lot of miscut counter top material...because thats what happens when r-tards use power tools

Anytype of cover would cause excess moisture to collect under it .

MB try some blocks under the corners , this would elivate the tank and any messes would be easy to clean and no moisture can collect but under the blocks.

I would be surprised if much water spilled. I'm just curious about any moisture that might come from the tank. Any chance that moisture will form underneath the tank? I know absolutely nothing about this, obviously. I have always had a tank on a stand.

BEsure to do a leak test first , fill let stand overnight and check for leaks. Besides this the only moisture would come from working on , in or around the tank. Like water changes or overfilling. and any water that gets under the tank will take awile to dry while it damages. Beside this it wont collect for no reason.

I just take a towel and wrap it around the base of the biocube when I do water changes. This is going to catch 99% of it. Otherwise, you shouldnt ever get water there.

If you have moisture forming under tank ...you have serious problems.
I would not worry about that.

You can try foam (cut to fit), or go to a fabric store and get some felt or any cloth cut to fit, ect.

Moving blankets are made to disperse water not absorb. They dont leak through. The moisture stays on top till it evaporates. I also use them at work because of this. Test it. Pour 1/2 a cup of water in the middle and watch. It will take quit a while to go through. And if you have this much water underneath then you have some problems.
