Help with velvet

It appears that my purple tang is showing signs of velvet. I've never dealt with this before. Any tips on treatment? I'm going to put him in quarantine. From what I've read, all the fish need to be quarantined and treated? I don't know how this happened. Haven't added anything to the tank in a year.

Remove the tang immediately, and also remove any fish with any symptoms at all. Velvet wipes tanks of everything except inverts. Unfortunately I know from experience. Copper dose the QT tank and that should kill the velvet. You should probably treat the fish not showing symptoms in a separate tank as well and allow the main tank to run fallow. Dont feed garlic or raise temps these things can stress the fish and actually help velvet infect them.
