Ok lately Ive been doing some research on Keeping SPS before I try killing anything else and heres what Ive come up with

salinity 1.0245-1.025
alk 7-11 dkh
calcium 4-500
magnesium 1300-1500
phosphates 0
nitrates 0
ph8.1-8.3

hopefully Im correct please feel free to tell me if Im not

Ive been using Aquarium Pharmaceuticals to test my water with their titration kits are these fairly accurate?

How good is Coralife salt I recently switched to this by recommendation from a fellow refer saying that the trace elements in this salt is very good. is this true? hopefully so thanks randy for your kind infulence

cheers mate

Those targets look fine, although I keep a bit higher specific gravity. This article has more:

Coralife salt wouldn't be my preference. I'd recommend selecting from Tropic Marin, Reef Crystals, or Instant Ocean. All of these have plenty of "trace elements", although the person recommending it may be using the term differently. One reason to justify picking them is that all have been used in many RC tanks of the month in the past few years.

I've not used the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals tests. Anyone want to comment on them?

If you want input on a specific brand kit, I'd post a new thread here or in the main forum with its name in the title so folks using it might be more likely to find it. :)
