history of lunar's reef

Really awesome tank, mate!

Those colors are stunning. I'm also a zeovit user but cannot get such results; I think it's a question of time, my tank is quite young, set up last october but more than 100 frags and small corals stocked.

I think that the key for success is stability, and that's just the hardest part for me (can't stop changing things)

Any Updates, especially with Biopellets on board!?.
Are you dosing any Zeo supplements still?.
Thanks
Mo

Hello,

Thank you for your interest, it's nice to know that you remember me and my tank.
As you know surely, my tank got the title of June 2010 TOTM http://reefkeeping.com/joomla/index.php/current-issue/article/65-tank-of-the-month
I've still been using NP-reducing BioPellets without any problems, on the contrary, with a lot of advantages. The corals grow really better and I need to fragment them often. But for that, the tank would be nearly hands-off. As plenty of other manufacturers' polymers have appeared on the market, I'd like to stress that I use the biopellets from Reef Interests (in the Netherlands) only.
No zeo additives, I add only some bacteria once per week.
You can see my latest movie here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V70KV_dZ9UE&feature=player_embedded

jbanks, thanks a lot. Sorry that so late.

reefkiter, I've been using ATI powermodule T5 for over 4 years now and the lamps are replaced every 5-6 months.

hi krzysztof what an amazing reef you have this system inspired me to keep sps and also use the zeovit system as at that time you were also using zeovit. thanks again for sharing your beautiful reef with us:beer::beer:

Lunar, I love your tank, and you are my inspiration to change from zeo to BP's.
Any updates with your system, what you feed, dose, how much pellets, and are the pellets able to keep p04 undetectable?

Thanks:bounce1:

Thanks everybody! I didn't suppose that anybody still look here.

So here you are the continuation of my story.

The last photo I placed here was taken in 2010, the movie as well. Let's start from a photos taken in May of 2011.

Some corals grow very fast. I had to fragment them.
Here are photos taken yesterday after the fragmentation.

No changes in the filtration method.: NP reducing Biopellets (about 2 liters) still in a fluidized filter. Although biopellets keep phosphate very low (0,03 at heavy feeding) I started to use PO4X4 phosphate remover in addition to them. I want to have PO4 as low as possible.

Just AMAZING.

How are you finding the flow with all the extra growth? Are you still using the same 6105's only?

simply amazing....one of the best that is for sure. You must have very strong lighting as you corals are very light and bright.....if I didnt know better I would say that was a zeovit tank.

Thanks for the updates.......
